Arc Flash Hazard Analysis

Arc Flash Hazard Safety Gear

The new National Fire and Protection Agency (NFPA) 70E and OSHA codes require stricter arc flash hazard safety regulations. The 70E ("Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace") calls for more safety related work practices, safety related maintenance requirement, and requirements for special equipment.

Baker Brothers Electric is the Oklahoma electric contractractor that performs arc flash hazard analyses and its associated training.

We ensure that your electrical equipment is properly maintained and labeled, and can help educate your employees about arc flash safety requirements and procedures.

Below are some general requirements from the NFPA 70E:

  • Develop and audit an Electrical Safe Work Practices (ESWP) policy
  • Ensure proper supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adequate tools
  • Conduct an electrical system study to determine the present degree of arc flash hazards
  • Follow strategies to mitigate and control arc flash hazards
  • Maintain all electrical distribution system components
  • Conduct regular safety training and assessments
